The Baptism
The Massacre
The Archangel
Critique:
For these pictures, I concentrated on nature, wherever that may be.
In the last picture, the lines in the bricks lead your eye to the bird- as does the line of water on the ground. The contrast of the white seagull and the darkness around it also attract attention. There is also a even amount of space in the photo, presenting balance in the image. The picture conveys a sense of loneliness and space, due to the bleakness of it.
In the second photo, the high saturation of the sky brings attention to the leaves that are overcoming the building- and the angle makes the picture more interesting. The picture presents a sense of acceptance, as well as foreshadowing nature overcoming the human race.
The first picture uses the contrast of the red leaves as opposed to the surrounding green. The texture of the water leads your eye toward the center, and the willow branch acts as a frame. The red tree is a representation of possible change- or, possibly, inevitable change.
I would like to spend more time editing the pictures, mainly because I rarely shoot a picture with an even horizon line. And I fail despite.
